Sexual harassment of women on the road, trains and even in corporates is a global issue. After the Nirbhaya incident in India we worked on providing a virtual bodyguard solution applicable globally under TotemSOS brand initiative .
App is based on traffic light model for location based messaging for crises communication in emergency for public safety issues
Red —Panic SOS button —-send message to guardian ,friends etc with latitude /longitude google maps
Yellow—unsure mode —risky—–usage of yellows shows that u are aware and sensitised of the scenario.
Green button –all fine but like to inform your location through sms/email

GPS need not be switched on –app works without gps based on mobile data/internet google maps location—hence battery is conserved…sms goes without internet also. Use whistle as a siren and torch light button in darkness in bus or metro to raise awareness nearby in case of danger. See nearby police stations and hospitals in case of need. App founder is a former Superintendent of Police with diverse experience in women related cases. Objective we have tried to achieve is to enhance confidence of the female in travelling/working/partying alone or with unknown persons.
Will gradually add voice video chatting with police stations and public safety organisations in future upgrades based on gps location of user.
