Sabor Filipino Cookbook showcases the various flavors of the Philippines.
This unique and interactive cookbook app is pre-populated with 25 free and carefully selected recipes native to the different regions, such as the Ilocanos’ pinakbet (mixed vegetables) in the northern area, the Cebuanos’ tinowa isda (sour fish soup), and tabirak, a sticky rice snack popular in southern Philippines.
Sabor also offers alternative ideas for certain ingredients or spices rarely available overseas, such as chayote for papaya or chili pepper leaves in lieu of malunggay.
Unlike other cookbook apps, users can also sort the recipes by region or by type of dish (e.g. meat, soup, dessert). As added functionality for users, the Esturya Team placed all efforts in having a bookmark feature, a glossary for local jargons, a step-by-step feature, and a built-in timer.
Sabor highly encourages its users to contribute their own recipes and photos of their prepared dishes to create what will eventually become a cookbook by Filipinos, for Filipinos and everyone else.
