When was the last time you lost your phone in your room and you kept calling it just to realize that you had put it on deep silent mode or when was the last time you were so busy that you checked your silent phone after a long time to see a stack of missed call notifications? Well worry no more, I have got a cool little App for you. So the idea is that, let’s assume one of your friend has been calling you, your phone is silent and it’s really urgent for him/her to contact you. So what he/she can do is send a knock word via SMS, the word could be – “urgent”. Once the SMS is received by you, the next time when he/she calls you, your phone will ring ONLY for his/her number irrespective of your phone’s sound setting.
THIS IS A PREVIEW VERSION OF THE APP!
Instruction for the current preview version: The knock word has to be sent without any spaces in the beginning or end, I noticed that some phone keyboards add spaces at the end of the word when you hit the auto-suggested word. This will be taken care of automatically in next update.
As of now, the features of the App are:
✓ You can set ‘knock words’ for either all of your contacts, or starred contacts only, or for selected contacts.
✓ You can change the active time of a knock word, that is, once a Knock word is received via SMS, the time for which the App will allow the number to ring your phone could be set by user.
✓ You can set different keyword for different contacts.
Additional feature in future version:
✓ When a call is received from a person multiple times, the phone will automatically send an SMS stating that the user’s phone is now in silent/vibrate mode and if it’s urgent he/she may send an SMS “urgent” and then call to ring.
✓ Checking for pattern of words in SMS.
✓ Configure the sound volume to ring at.
✓ History of contacts who used knock words
✓ History of contacts who have been trying to reach you a lot of times but didn’t use Knock words (most likely that they don’t know about it.)
✓ You may expect integration with WhatsApp and other services’ messages as an option.
